Winemaker Notes:

The 2013 Malbec presents an inky dark, almost opaque color in the glass. Initially, the aromatics are dramatic and vibrant with dark red fruits, cassis and perfumed floral nuances. A few additional minutes reveal complex spicy characters such as coriander, cocoa and baking spices. On the palate, the flavors shine with a rich complexity that is supple and harmonious. Black raspberry and black currant fruit support a silky tannin structure, that forms a wonderful backdrop to the firm and fleshy characters in the wine. The finish is elegant and refined supporting the fruit and creating the desire for another mouthwatering sip.

Winemaker Notes:

Perry Beeson’s vineyard is one of the most incredible vineyards I have ever encountered. It is five acres of exquisite field blend vines that put out beautiful fruit even in poor vintages. For vines that are nearly 133 years old, the resulting wine is surprisingly refined and elegant. There is some nice raspberry and cardamom on the nose. Deep blackberry and white pepper unfurl in the mouth and the finish is spicy and lingering. This is definitely your rich red meat wine; the peppery nature of this Zinfandel strips the fat molecules off your tongue and prepares your palate for the next mouth-watering bite.

Winemaker Notes:

Somers Ranch Zinfandel is always one of our most deeply perfumed and brambly Zinfandels. The orientation of the vineyard and its naturally low yields provide us with a wine that is dark and rich with aromas of raspberry, rose petal and briar patch leading to a hint of oak toast. The palate is reminiscent of a rich berry pie with flavors of raspberry and boysenberry. A hint of chocolate and toast round out the tasting experience. This wine has full, fleshy tannins that are silky and smooth, seamless from start to finish.

Winemaker Notes:

This Zinfandel is all about the expression of the vineyard. The Spencer’s Hill Zinfandel comes from the top knoll of Endeavour Vineyard where the soil is thin and rocky. The vines in this part of the vineyard work hard to produce just a few precious clusters. Initially, the aromatics present a black fruit character with underlying spicy black and white pepper along with cardamom. The spicy upfront bouquet is unique to this Zin. On the palate, the texture is dense and full-bodied offering a wonderful core of blackberry, raspberry and blueberry fruit. The tannins are smooth and the mouthfeel is refined and integrated. Delicious Zin!

Winemaker Notes:

This new vintage of Four Clones Zinfandel presents a medium dark to purple ruby color. At first swirl, a deep and concentrated nose of raspberry and cherry emanate from the glass. A few more minutes of airing reveal subtle notes of baking spices lurking in the background. On the palate, the wine shows classic Zinfandel characters of dark berry, black pepper and licorice. This tremendous wine has excellent symmetry between fruit, alcohol, tannin and acid. The balance of the 2013 vintage shines through. The mouthwatering finish lingers for more than a minute proving yet again that this young Zinfandel vineyard is on top of its game.

Winemaker Notes:

This wine consistently shows why the Dry Creek Valley is the best place to grow Zinfandel on earth. At first swirl, blackberry and plum jump from the glass and intermix with red raspberry and cherry. A few more minutes of aeration reveal a floral quality with some exotic spice notes that speak to the incredible terroir of our region. The flavors come forward with dark berry fruits, however the red fruits explode on the mid-palate with anise, clove and a hint of lavender on the finish. The robust tannins flesh out on the finish all framed by refreshing acidity and superb balance. It’s a delicious wine from an impeccable vineyard in which no detail or expense is spared.
