2010 Merlot

We have been producing Merlot since 1973. This elegantly constructed wine over-delivers in every way displaying rich nuances of blackcherry and cassis. The tannins are firm and structured and yet the wine is graceful and feels lively on the palate. A very versatile food wine that can easily be cellared for a few years. This wine is truly a Merlot lovers Merlot.

The 2010 vintage offers a Merlot that is truly delicious – lively, enticing red fruit with a core of deep, lush, black fruit. Initially, a wonderful bouquet of maraschino cherry and floral spices shine through. The palate is full of succulent ripe fruit combining a mixture of red cherry, black cherry, red plum, and black plum. A spicy undertone of earthy complexity rounds out the mouthfeel with dusty red fruit elements that speak to the Dry Creek Valley appellation. This plush wine is held together in a structure of fine, ripe tannins. The finish is full-bodied with a seamless, lingering aftertaste.
